Wife divorced Over "inappropriate" Snapchat Pictures

Manama: A Saudi man has divorced his wife after seeing "inappropriate" pictures of his Kuwaiti wife on Snapchat.

The husband said that he and his wife got married two years ago and that he had a content married life, moving between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

"However, one day, I received a call from a trusted friend who asked to see me immediately at a sports club in the capital Riyadh," he said.

"When we met, he showed me several Snapchat accounts that showed my wife in obscene positions. When i became sure the pictures were undoubtedly those of my wife, I decided to end our marriage, " he said, quoted by Saudi news site Sada.

Omani Murders Mother In Her Sleep

Muscat: A 22 year-old Omani national murdered his mother in the Wadi Bani Ghafir area of Rusfaq province on Sunday, Royal Oman Police (ROP) revealed to Gulf News.

The young man smashed a rock onto his mother's head while she was sleeping, the official said.

The 45 year-old women died instantly, according to paramedics.

The ROP said initial investigations reveal existing disputes between the man and his mother.

The accused is currently in police custody at the Rustaq police station

Black berry to launch 2 Mid-range Android phones In 2016

Black Berry's Android experiment doesn't seem to be working out as well.Apparently,consumers don't really want device from as aspiring entrant with a $700 (approx.Rs.73,000)price tag slapped in it,physical keyboard or not.But that won't stop Black Berry from trying what could be ots final shot in the consumer,or may be even the hardware market.

The company is reeling from substantial losses in the last quarter,chiefly from its traditional hardware business,which say just 600,000 devices getting sold which means the company won't be able to reach its 5 million sales annual target in the immediate future.

"The fact that we came out with  a high end phone [as our first Android device] was probably not as wise as it should have been."said John S.Chen. "A lot of enterprise customers have said to us ,'I  want to buy your phone but $700 is a little too steep for me, I'more interested in a $400 device."

Black berry will now launch two mind-range phones, targeting the $400 price range running and Android OS.The lineup will consist of a full touchscreen device and one with a physical Keyboard.

Chen was also mindful of the fact that secure services are Black Berry's forte, while Android's reach is the way to get that UPS to the masses.

Ans in what is rather an unexpected turn of events,it has killed the BB1onOS which was supposed to be the original Holly Grail, Launched way back in 1013.The OS was only used in entry-level. budget-oriented devices by now so its demise wouldn;t shock lot of people,after high-end device running on it too failed quite majorly.

It will continue to support the operating system in the near future,but if you want a more traditional/conventional Black Berry device ,you won't find it  the future.

Facebook's Next Frontier : Chatbots, live video

SAN FRANCISCO: Facebok Inc said on Tuesday it will allow developers to build chatbots inside its messenger app to enable users to communicate with business directly in its latest effort to dominate enterprise transactions and customer service.

The chatbots expedite Facebbook's moves to build out Messenger as the go-to- place for users to contact business rather than through third-party websites and 1-800 lines.

"You will never have to call 1-800 Flowers again," Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said during a demonstration of how the chatbots will work.

At the company's annual developer conference in San Francisco, Zuckerberg also announced during his keynote address its live video product, Facebook Live, was open to developers to create new features as Facebook seeks to encourage users to share more original content on the 1.6 billion-person site.

Zuckerberg's address strayed from the normal company news update by making veiled references to the 2016 US presidential campaign. He referenced comments by Republican frontrunner Donald Trump in particular, saying he heard "fearful voices calling for building wall" and halting immigration.

Zuckerberg kicked off the 30-minute keynote by laying out the company's 10 year plan which included improvements in artificial intelligence, virtual reality and augmented reality Last week, Facebook made its biggest push yet in live video by giving the product more prominent placement on its app and rolling out features that make it easier to create and find video.

It is also paying celebrities and media companies to supply video in order to get Live off to a quick start and take on rivals such as Twitter Inc's Periscope and Snapchat.

Messenger last week rolled out Messenger Codes, allowing users to scan a code to begin a chat with a business and making it easier to carry out transactions and customer service through the app.

Facebook said more than 50 million business have pages. Such features will let Messenger users carry out tasks such as making restaurant reservations, placing online orders and scheduling appointments, a move that threatens call service center and traditional customer service lines.

The iphone SE could Be The Least-Profitable iphone Ever

Apple released the i phone SE as a kind of support device for its main 6S and 6S plus lineup.as was clear with a much different update cycle.As a result,it is not really a surprise that the phone is predicted to be one of the last successful handsets ever released by cupertino.

The Phone cost Apple only an estimated $160 to build,a whole $13 cheaper than the 5 C,while retailing for$399 it leads to a profit of $239.That's still a sizable margin,but the 5 C led to a major chunk of $376 while the 5 S. of which the SE is the replacement.got a mammoth $450 in profits.

Obviously. storage is a major bone of contention, and here upgrading to the 64 GB variant lends Apple an additional $89 in profits.Its should be noted that these costs include only hardware and not additional costs necessary to get  the device in your hands.It is estimated that the R&D costs here are a lot lower than on other Apple phone since most of the hardware is lent from other i phone, while the design  is several years old.

The SE  is the first occasion where Apple is competing in the budget category properly.If you in the market for a high-end phone, and don't care about the screen size (or the 3 D Touch ), it is perhaps the most powerful  phone in the market.(considering it most has 6$ internal, is is one of the most powerful phones anyway.)

PEMRA Finalizes Minimum Standards for Digital Cable TV Set-Top-Boxes

PEMRA has finalized the minimum standards / specifications for Digital Cable set-top-boxes in pursuance of its endeavor to meet the cable TV Digitalization deadline of September 30, 2016.

It is said that maximum facilitation along with protection of subscribers' rights were kept in mind while deciding the minimum standards for the set-top boxes


Furthermore international best practices were also considered to safeguard the ultimate objective such as quality of service un-interrupted operation of the equipment, safety and competitiveness.
PEMRA in its customized standards has made it compulsory for all cable operators and equipment providers to meet certain performance and audio/video decoding requirements, equipment conformity, electronic program guide and logical channel numbering etc.

Once the draft standards are approved by the Authority (in its upcoming meeting on March 30th) the same shall be available on PEMRA website for easy access of stakeholders including the public and subcribers.

Moreover, PEMRA is already pursuing Federal Government, FBR and provincial governments to facilitate cable TV digitalization by offering Tax Holidays and exemptions on import of Digitalization equipment (such as set-top-boxes) thus facilitating cable operators in meeting digitalization deadline of September 30,2016.

The Chairman PEMRA also held a meeting with the Chief Minister Punjab last week, whereas, a meeting with Federal Finance Minister is scheduled next week to fetch maximum support for the cable operators converting to digitalization

It is worth mentioning that Cable Operators Association of Pakistan will replace analogue cable to digital cable TV system by September 2016 across the country, starting with 12 major cities, Suppose cost is Rs 90 Billion

with Digital Cable TV, consumers will be able to enjoy high-definition streams on their TVs. The Set-top-box will cost Rs 5,000 - will be needed to get digital cable TV.

Grenade detonator blows up during court demonstration in Karachi

Karachi:The detonator of a hand grenade explode during a demonstration requested by a judge in an anti-terror court in Karachi on  Monday ,injuring two people and throwing the judge off his chair .


The dramatic incident ,which left a Policeman and a court assistant injured,occurred during the trail of a man  accused of being an extortionist and a gangster who had carried out several grenade attack. Police had also claimed to have recovered a stash of grenades when they arrested him.


TWO injured as hand grenade accidentally explodes inside Karachi ATC

"Police constable Liaquat was presenting the detonator of the hand grenade which had been recovered from the suspect before the ATC-111 judge as evidence ,"said a court staffer who witnessed the incident.

When the judge asked Liaquat to describe how a grenade work,the constable held Up its components.

"He [Liaquat] pulled the pin out of the detonator show the judge how it works but it [detonator]exploded."

The small blast sent shrapnel flying in the room.Constable liaquat's hand was badly wounded while the court's stenographer, Shoaib, suffered from a shapnel-wound to his head.

The judge was thrown off his chair but did not suffer any injuries despite his close proximity the device.

Two rangers men Injured in  grenade attack on Karachi Cheak Post

Another court official ,whose office is located on the ground flour, below the court,said that around 1 Pm he heard glass shattering."There is a huge glass door at the entrance of the building .At first,It throught it has been smashed .So I went out to cheak but saw there was a rush on the first Floor."

Describing the explosion as an accident,DIG South Dr Hamil Ahmed confirmed the incident. He added that the part which exploded was the grenade's detonator which was throught to have been defused.
